2016 GOALS & DREAMS

I think every new year one of my goals is to be a more consistent blogger… well like lots of people that rush out to get a gym membership in January and stop going in March I tend to fail at that!

Either way I think its good to set goals for the new year! Ill start with my blogging goal because I think it is really doable this year. I plan to blog twice a month. Maybe more but at least twice. One blog post will be about the new  knitting patterns I’ve released and any etsy shop news and the other will vary between personal projects, books, inspiration, new endeavors etc.

And here is why I think I am going to achieve this I am scheduling them in my calendar! This leads me to my second goal: Read at least one business or inspirational book each month. This month it is the much loved “Getting Things Done” which I’ve heard has a cult like following. I don’t think I am going to 100% implement his methods but much of what David Allen writes about has already altered how I organize and manage the many to do lists I have lying around everywhere!

In my personal and business life organizing and decluttering is a major goal this year for my own sanity! I hope it will make daily life more manageable and less stressful.

In terms of organization:

-Shop updates for my etsy shop will now be on Sunday nights

-New pattern releases will now be on Fridays

and I am scheduling in other boring things like updating finances, my mailing list and more on my calendar so I don’t forget to do them monthly.

I want to wear my hand knit clothes more often, for some reason I often fear ruining them so they sit unused which is crazy considering how much time I spend on them!!

I also want to work towards a capsule wardrobe. I don’t think I’ll choose a specific number of items for my closet but I am working to purge clothes that are ill fitting, and don’t spark joy. Ive already rid my wardrobe of a lot and plan to continue to do this as I am able to SLOWLY add more versatile, good quality pieces. Thanks to “The Life Changing magic of Tidying Up” (last months book) for encouraging me to start on this path in a more systematic way.

The last thing I wanted to share is my goal to work on one non-fiber related personal craft each month. Thats a non knitting or spinning project like sewing or embroidery. I hope this will help me create a little more balance in my life and foster some new creativity while slowly knocking off sewing patterns Ive been planning to get to for quite some time!

And of course I plan to grow my little yarn business and make more  knitting pattern designs.
