Some patterns knit up easily and the editing comes together quickly. Others are like a rich piece of dark chocolate that you want to slowly savor- each stitch intentional, each decrease deliberate. And when you are finally finished you have something you re truly proud of sharing with the world! I am excited to share that something special with you today! Meet Nadia:

The Inspiration: The Nadia Tunic is an intricate knit top with eastern inspired motifs. I have long been drawn to the beautiful architecture and artistic flavors of the Middle East and wanted to design a top that had an eastern feel. Knit tassels and various cables are worked on a reverse stockinette background for a stunning overall effect. This tunic is a serious statement piece!

The Design: The piece is worked flat as two pieces and seamed with the neckline and armhole edges picked up afterward and worked as a smooth i-cord bind off.  The length and A-line silhouette make it perfect for layering throughout all seasons!

The Yarn: I met Anne Hanson of KnitSpot at a fiber festival we were both vending at last summer in Western Michigan. I fell in love with her line of natural undyed yarns. They are GORGEOUS guys! I couldn't wait to try out some of her yarns for myself and decided to start with the one I was first drawn to when entering her booth. This tunic is knit up in Bare Naked Wools Better Breakfast fingering weight yarn (Wool, Alpaca, Nylon) this design takes some time to work up but the efforts are very rewarding! This top can be worn over leggings, jeans, a maxi dress, with tall boots or sandals!
