Shoji Vest
Join me in welcoming my latest knitwear design! Meet the Shoji Vest!
The Inspiration:
The Shoji Vest was inspired by Japanese rice paper (Shoji) screen panels. I love the geometric look of these walls and wanted to create a design inspired by their lines and different tones.
The Design:
Slipped stitches and the use of two colors of yarn along with the texture of the garter stitch makes for interesting overall texture and an engaging, but still simple knit. The design has a minimalist, fresh feel. Great for layering over a button up shirt, scoop neck tee or cotton dress. Special techniques like the tubular cast on and i-cord bind off take this design to the next level giving it nicely finished details. It is designed to fit loose with about 6" positive ease.
The Yarn:
Knit up in lovely Woolfolk fingering weight ultimate merino wool yarns this vest is super soft and cozy. The fingering weight allows for a lighter weight piece making it versatile Fall through Spring!
