Winter Surf
I am so excited to share a new design with you today, meet Winter Surf!
The Inspiration:
I wanted to create a sweater that I could wear year-round, one that had a beachy- bohemian feel and was easy to throw on over anything! This sweater came to life just as I imagined! It is the perfect piece for layering over tunics and fitted tees in the winter, or for throwing on over your bikini for a refreshing walk on the beach in the summer. It has a youthful, free-spirited feel.
The Design:
Designed with several inches of positive ease in the bust for a comfy fit, a classic drop shoulder, and fitted sleeves. The sweater is knit flat in pieces and seamed for durability and strength. The allover lace pattern makes it an engaging knit. This is a great simple design for first time sweater knitters. The cropped length gives it a playful feel and makes it great for layering and can easily be adapted to make a more traditional or tunic length. Options for a more sophisticated tubular bind on and off are included in the instructions.
The Yarn:
In order for this sweater to really have the feel I was going for the yarn choice was very important! I didn't want a solid wool yarn but something lighter that would make this sweater ideal for spring and summer wear as well. I decided on Plucky Knitter Lodge Worsted. This yarn is an amazing blend of Merino Wool, Cotton, Silk, and Flax! PERFECT for an all-seasons knit! The worsted weight makes it a quick knit and the fabric created makes for a sweater that can be enjoyed year round!
